Paul Wight Returns to Weekly Commentary on AEW Collision

This week’s edition of AEW Collision featured the return of a legendary voice to the broadcast booth, as Paul Wight—known to millions as The Big Show—joined Tony Schiavone and Excalibur to call the action. This marked Wight’s first time performing commentary duties on a weekly television show since July 2024, when he worked AEW Battle of the Belts XI. Prior to this, his most recent appearance in the headset was at the Full Gear Tailgate Brawl in late 2025.

Wight has been a fixture in AEW since signing in February 2021, initially providing commentary for AEW Dark: Elevation and competing sporadically. His in-ring record includes a handful of handicap matches and a notable Street Fight on the November 15, 2023, episode of Dynamite, where he teamed with Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, and Kota Ibushi.

While he has settled into his broadcast role, the giant is not officially retired from competition. During a December 2025 appearance on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Wight revealed that despite recently undergoing a “small back surgery,” he remains optimistic about a future return to the ring.
