Swerve Strickland says being powerbombed onto a cinder block by Adam Page at AEW All Out 2024 was worse than the infamous syringe spot from the same match.
Speaking on Hot 97, Strickland said, “That was a full on, real cinder block. That was probably the worst thing I’ve ever done. I was like, ‘never again! Never again.'”
He said he had to clear his mind before taking the bump, explaining, “I’m like, ‘Do it before I just say no. Do it now.’ Because like, there’s a time and window before I come to my realization that this is stupid.” Strickland added that his recovery was limited to a heating pad and ice, as he tries to avoid pain medication whenever possible.
Strickland also named Rey Mysterio, Edge and Shawn Michaels as the three wrestlers he looked up to most growing up, noting he has wrestled Mysterio, learned from Michaels in NXT and regularly seeks advice from Adam Copeland in AEW.
