AEW Star Who Has WWE Interest Pulls Out Of Indy Event

Multiple sources have reported that Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix are attracting attention from WWE as their contracts close. AEW believes the Lucha Bros will likely leave for WWE once they are free from their current contracts.

This information was later backed up by WrestlePurists and Fightful Select, which added that Penta’s contract expires first, while Fenix’s will end around September. Sean Ross Sapp shared this week that the Lucha Bros want to stick together and are not interested in going to NXT. It was also noted that no agreement has been made since they must wait until their AEW contracts are finished.

Fenix, who last appeared on AEW television on August 20 during Collision, has withdrawn from a scheduled event with New Era Wrestling on September 2 in El Paso, Texas.

Usually, when WWE is close to signing a talent, they might remove them from upcoming independent events. It’s uncertain if that’s the situation here. The promotion released the following statement:
