Roxanne Perez said she has moved past the prodigy label that followed her into WWE.
Perez debuted with the gimmick as a teenager. Speaking to Allenownz Wrasslin, she said the description no longer covers where she is.
“I think people will always resonate me with the Prodigy, and you guys can call me that for as long as you want,” Perez said. “But I think I’m finally, I feel it, I’m transitioning into, I’m not just a prodigy now. I’m a star. I’m the star girl of the WWE. And I think the fans are finally starting to see that. And I am young, but I’m not just the super, super young girl that’s just pretty good and mastering things. I’ve mastered it. And now I’m the star.”
Perez is 24 and has held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship and the NXT Women’s Championship twice. She beat Faby Apache, Natalya and La Hiedra to earn a title match against La Catalina at Worlds Collide.
