The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic gets underway on tonight’s episode of WWE NXT from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
NXT General Manager Robert Stone announced the return of the 14-team tournament on last week’s show. The field includes NXT Tag Team Champions Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes, AAA Tag Team Champions El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno, Fraxiom, Los Americanos, DarkState’s Osiris Griffin and Cutler James, Birthright, and 2022 winners The Creed Brothers.
Zilla Fatu, who turned down an offer to join Birthright, will team with Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux against Birthright’s Lexis King, Uriah Connors and Channing Lorenzo. AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina, who confronted NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan last week, will team with Thea Hail to face Jordan and NXT Women’s North American Champion Zaria.
The show will also feature the fallout from Mason Rook earning a shot at NXT Champion Grayson Waller by defeating Tony D’Angelo and Saquon Shugars in a Triple Threat Match last week.
